What is Sugaring?
Sugaring is an organic form of hair removal, made from just three ingredients. Sugar, lemon and water. Sugaring has the same effect as traditional waxing but the method is a little bit different with all natural ingredients which make it a bit more gentle on the skin. It removes the hair while keeping the integrity of your skin, due to the paste being water soluble. The sugar is applied against the hair growth and pulled out in the direction of growth. Similar to tweezing. Sugar minimizes lifting, tearing, breakage, and ingrowns. Overall sugaring tends to make your healing process a lot easier, and your experience a lot smoother!

How do I prep?
Start off with keeping the skin clean daily, exfoliating 2-3 times a week, and moisturizing daily. If you currently shave we recommend 14-21 days of hair growth when giving up the razor to make the big switch. If you plan on trying sugaring in the future start exfoliating your skin 2-3 times a week to start prepping. If your appointment is sooner than later no worries! Don’t exfoliate the day before or same day as a service, sugaring exfoliates and we do not want to irritate the skin by over exfoliating. Avoid heavy oils, lotions, make up, and deodorant if you have an appointment that day, these can affect the results of your service.

How often should I exfoliate?

Yes sugaring can help minimize ingrown hairs, with the proper at home aftercare routine.

Why sugaring over shaving or waxing?
Sugar is an all natural method of hair removal made from lemon, sugar, and water. It is water soluble. This means you should have minimum lifting and tearing, no burns, and no allergic reactions, but that doesn’t mean you won’t have a reaction. Overall its the more gentle bio degradable option. Wax is made with resins and dyes. It breaks more hair than sugaring, which means more ingrowns, and itchy skin. Shaving can cause razor burn, excessive ingrowns, and hyperpigmentation.
